Hi, college basketball fans. My name is Brad Malone. Thanks for taking a moment to read about my new writing project focusing on Arizona Men’s Basketball.
U of A Basketball has been a passion of mine since I was a kid in Tucson. I fell in love with the program during the 1987-88 season when the Cats made their first run to the Final Four. It made such an impression on me that I decided to create a film about that magical team.
The film is over a decade in the making and we are hoping to have finishing funds soon. Our film team has traveled the country talking to over 35 college basketball and Arizona basketball personalities. We were also fortunate enough to interview Coach Olson for the movie. You can watch the trailer here.
I do a podcast also called Bear Down Bias. It is dedicated to all things Arizona Men’s Basketball. Since 2017 we have recorded and produced 139 episodes and counting.
My newest Arizona Basketball project is one that will allow me to share more Arizona Basketball stories and information.
This season celebrates the 35th anniversary of arguably Tucson’s favorite team of all time, the 1987-88 Arizona Wildcats. I will be using this format to relive that season each game at a time.
We will go on a journey together to celebrate great moments like the Great Alaska Shootout wins vs. Michigan and Syracuse, the school’s first number-one ranking, beating Coach K’s Duke Blue Devils at McKale, and the magical NCAA Tournament run.
Please join me for these stories and many others on Substack with the Bear Down Bias Blog.
